Families whose lands are acquired for the sub-project are compensated as per Land Acquisition Act 1894, ADB policy on Involuntary Resettlement, National R & R policy 2007 and other principles derived from ADB's safeguard principles. However, for Tranche 2, as per government decision, private land will be acquired as per Assam Land Requisition and Acquisition Act, 1964 and compensation will be provided to the affected people as per Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013.
